Last spring, we saw a majestic whitetail deer standing on top of the beaver dam quietly watching over the sanctuary pond.  Our Metis friend, a spiritual healer, later explained that many traditional cultures believe deer are sacred protectors and messengers of peace.  Therefore, seeing a deer near your home is considered a symbol of protection and serenity that encourages peace and harmony.
